Heartbreak makes people book flights. It rarely makes them book good ones. Here is what the map suggests, and what it cannot do about any of it.

Why not Venus

Because a line associated with attraction and ease is a strange thing to stand on while you are neither. Venus placements are generous with beginnings, and a beginning is not what most people need eleven days after the end of something.

What tends to happen instead is that the ease works, briefly, and deposits you in a situation you have no capacity to be honest inside. That is not healing. That is a second problem, in better light.

What people say helped

Moon and IC placements come up most — the ones associated with home and the private version of you. People describe sleeping properly for the first time in weeks, and that sounding trivial right up until you have not done it.

Saturn appears more than you would expect, which surprised us. Not as comfort: as structure. Several people described going somewhere that asked something of them daily and finding that the asking was the point. Grief with a timetable is more survivable than grief with an open calendar.

The one to be careful with

Pluto. It is associated with depth and transformation, and there is a version of post-breakup travel that goes looking for precisely that — the trip that cracks you open and returns you as somebody more interesting.

Sometimes it does. It also does not schedule itself around your annual leave, and going somewhere intense while already at your limit is how a fortnight becomes something you discuss in a professional setting for a year afterwards. In the acute phase, go somewhere kind.

The honest bit

No line does the work. Distance changes what is in front of you and nothing at all about what is behind your eyes, and people who come back saying the trip fixed it are usually describing the time that passed rather than the place they spent it in.

What a well-chosen place can do is stop actively making it worse. That is a much smaller claim and, at three weeks out, an entirely sufficient one.
