Elsewhere Atlas is a tool for reflection, curiosity, and travel inspiration. It draws on the astrological practice of astrocartography, which is not a scientifically validated method and should not be treated as fact.

There's no account or sign-up — Elsewhere Atlas doesn't collect your name. To calculate your Atlas, we ask for your birth date, birth time (or a note that you don't know it), and birth location, and optionally the city you currently live in so we can compare it against your chart.
If you use “Email my report,” we collect the email address you enter for the sole purpose of sending that email. If you complete a purchase, payment is handled by our payment processor — we don't receive or store your full card number.
Your birth details are sent to a third-party astrology data provider to calculate the real planetary positions and lines your report is built from, and to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to generate some of the descriptive text in your report. Your current city, if provided, is used only to compare against your own chart.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Elsewhere Atlas relies on a small number of third-party services to work:
- An astrology data provider, to compute planetary positions from your birth data.
- Anthropic's Claude API, to generate some of the report's narrative text.
- A city geocoding service, to look up city names and coordinates as you type.
- A payment processor, to handle checkout for the paid report.
Each only receives the specific information it needs to perform its function, and each has its own privacy practices governing how it handles that information.
Elsewhere Atlas doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Your birth details, current city, purchase status, and a cache of your report's text are stored in your browser's local storage, not in a server-side database — clearing your browser data for this site removes them.
Birth details are used only to calculate your Atlas and are never sold. You can request deletion of any information we do hold (such as an email address you sent us) at any time by contacting us below.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of information we hold about you. Since almost everything lives in your own browser's local storage under your control, exercising most of these rights is as simple as clearing your browser data — for anything else, contact us at whereisyourelsewhereatlas@gmail.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Elsewhere Atlas is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
